Experience the island's only way to travel back in time; the beautiful Tren de Sollér. Guests will gain the feeling of being within a time machine while enjoying a train ride in the historical Tren de Sóller. The Tren de Sóller has connected the city of Palma de Mallorca with the small town of Sóller since 1912. It travels 27 km along its narrow-gauge track through beautiful landscapes and has completely retained its original character.
Time travelling in the Tren de Sóller
Participants will take a seat in one of the beautiful wagons, which can be exclusively reserved for the group to enjoy a relaxing train ride in the Tren de Sóller with fantastic views. While the Tren de Sóller takes guests through the picturesque nature of Mallorca, an experienced guide will share interesting facts about the train and the island. During the train ride and upon request, typical Mallorquin specialities will be served to guests.
The Tren de Sóller drives on especially small rails of 914 mm to Sóller, that are rare nowadays. While driving through the Tramuntana, the Tren de Sóller will also pass through the Sierra de Alfabia, which offers nice views. In total, the Tren de Sóller will do a 199 elevation gain in just 7 km. However, it is no problem for this perfectly working train and guests will arrive in Sóller safe and relaxed.
Program after Tren de Sóller
Sóller is the perfect starting point for a wonderful hiking trip or mountain bike tour through nature. The beautiful tracks offer spectacular views over the Tramuntana mountain range and several possible stops for canyoning and abseiling. If you would prefer to get to know the culinary world of Mallorca, we will happily organise a wine tasting in an authentic bodega in the heart of the island or an interesting paella cooking class with an experienced chef.
